The story originating in Kalakkath, Kerala, "Thullal" has spread across borders as an art and literature form. "Deepastambham" has been based on the life of Kunchan Nambiar, who extensively contributed to the art form. The short film has been shot in natural light and surroundings, hoping to capture the essence of the story set during 1700 AD.
